Status Ch. VI +08 Recap

Status Ch. VI +08 Recap

A show that feels more like a curated art exhibition, a community of car lovers that thrive in the details. Status Seasonal is always a crowd favourite because you can see and feel the amount of effort that the Status team has put into curating the show and the amount of effort each owner has put into their cars.

I had personally worked on/supported 15 cars within the show. I was not able to attend so I asked @kaiden.holt to shoot some of the cars I had worked on. FYI there is only photos of 14 cars here, I only realised there was 1 more after all the photos from the show were released, cri.

Anyway, enough chat, enjoy some good fitment.

Ill start from the inside by the entrance and work my way out.

After walking in you would've been greeted by Gus's (@dis_gus_t) RX8 sporting plus08's 36k Stance Springs.

I also rolled Gus's front fenders about 3 times. Big shout out to Gus as well, a man who has truly learnt by getting his hands dirty. I've enjoyed simply messaging him back and forth over days whilst he dials in his fitment. Can you guess how much camber he's running?

A car that's no stranger to car shows in VIC, Stefan's (@fresh_g6et) now bagged G6ET. I supported in dialling the camber and aired out height.

The front is usually a little lower so maybe the ground was uneven here.

Jake's (@donk.jzx) MKII. Literally the cleanest MKII/Chaser I've ever laid eyes on. I rolled his fenders all round!

Peep the brakes...

Kit's (@uwu_86_) GR86. I did a full suspension setup as well as rolled/shaved the rear fenders. A GR86s like no other in Aus and one of my personal favorite 86s. Kit also recently took home Best Stance at Unmarked in Melbourne. Fun fact, the wheels and suspension used to belong on Thomas's Static 86 which took home Best on Coils last year at Status.

Vu's (@littleaisanvu) Majesta. Vu had messaged me about a year ago with the goal of making his car sit exactly how it's pictured here. I helped him spec his wheels exactly as he needed, I also rolled/shaved his fenders to suit. He had never intended to be in shows, but I think it fits in perfectly.

Keen eyes may notice that the chrome fender trim is still on the car. On most other Majestas and Crowns those trims have been removed in order to roll/shave the fenders. My goal was to keep the trims, something that truthfully ties the whole car together. It came lathered in chrome from the factory, it would be wrong to remove it.

Also! Look at the detail in these engravings done by Vu's sister! (@bbyvus._.engraving)

Franzs (@franzchatto) Subie. I helped him spec out his coilovers (yes it drives like that), wheels and tyres. I also rolled/pulled his fenders and dialled in his fitment.

I think my favourite thing about this car is that it drives lower than most bagged Subies.

Parsa's (@90mkii_) JZX90 MKII. Front roll/pull and camber adjust. Ended up recommending him different front upper camber arms so he could get the front fitment perfect. Congrats to him winning Best JDM! Well deserved.

Matthew's (@mrob.86) 86. I love this car and the people loved it too! He took home the Peoples Choice Award! I helped him spec out everything and dial in the fitment. This turned from a P plate spec 86 to an award winning show car within 2 years.

Matt also drove this 2 hours to get home after the show...

Dom's (@fdbruh) FD Civic. Man it feels good to see an FD Civic back at Status Seasonal. Its been 4 years since I had my own personal FD Civic at Status in 2021.

With Dom's FD I helped him spec everything down to the Tyres. He took the liberty of installing the Coilovers and Rear Camber Arms himself, as well as dialling in the rear fitment. I did the final touches on the Front!

Mike's (@2tlib) Static Liberty Wagon. Mikes car needs no introduction, the true embodiment of an Oni-Kyan static car. This Liberty is running our 36k Stance Springs all round on a set of Silvers Coilovers. Mike has reported it drives as smooth as ever, and this mf drives the sh*t out of this car.

Nick's (@rcfraudy) RCF. From stock to show car in a matter of weeks. I installed Nicks Air Suspension system as well has gave him pointers on the wheels specs and spacers to run.

Jon's (@kiairgt) Kia Cerato GT. Jon came to me through the homies at FitmentLab2.0. Jon had just picked up these SSRs and needed a fair amount of fender and fitment work to make them fit. I rolled and pulled his front fenders, Flared his rear fenders, adjusted his rear camber arms and slotted his front coilovers. I love this car simply because its different than most show cars, Jons taken what would be a family car and turned it into a piece of art.

Last but not least, @bujpls E30 Coupe. I helped dial in the fitment for this beautiful E30 about 2 years ago. Since then its gotten a a new bodykit and some small touches all round.

One car that did not make it to the list is @oushmedia Golf R. I helped dial in his fitment on his new TE37s.

As you can see, Status packed a lot of amazing cars into the limited space at Seaworks. The quality of show car builds has developed a lot since I was at my first show in 2021. From what I can see in the photos, every car there serves as an inspiration for the many attendees at the show.

Thank you for taking the time to read through this recap and I hope you enjoyed it! If you have any feedback for me please let me know.

Also, please go give @kaiden.holt a follow on Instagram. I think he killed it with the photos.
